Happy Birthday Kayla!

Saturday I went to Birmingham for Kayla's birthday party. HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY KAYLA! I'm not going to post pictures of her here, but this is a picture of me and Kevin (my brother and Kayla's daddy). We had a great time and Kayla was so excited to have everyone at her house.

A miracle has happened...

... I have stamped again! It has been months since I have made a card. I needed to make some thank you cards for a few people and I whipped a few up. My stamps were lonely because I haven't used them in a long time! So here is what I came up with. It is a simple card but I actually made something!

The Smithsonian

Here are some pictures I made while we went through the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. We didn't have much time so we quickly went through a few areas!

More DC Pictures

This jewelry is in the Smithsonian. The pieces are just beautiful!!!!!

This is a picture of the Hope Diamond (from the Smithsonian). I decided to take a picture of this so I can put it on my wish list! lol

Mt. Vernon (Washington's House) - Here is a picture from the front and the view from the back! The next picture is Washington's tomb.

White House- Our group was able to tour the White House, however, we were not allowed to take pictures inside. It was great to be able to walk through and see inside!

Iwo Jima Memorial- I know the picture is blurry but I had a hard time getting one to take and not blur and still be light enough to see. I think this is the best one I have.

This is the Washington Monument. We went to the top and it was so neat to be able to see all the city from the top.

Here are some more photos from Arlington National Cemetery. The 2nd picture is the Kennedy Gravesites. A week before Kennedy was assasinated he was sitting on the porch of the house right behind the grave. He told someone he could stay there forever. When he was killed that person remembered that and that is why he was burried there.

World War II Memorial- 4,000 gold stars on the Freedom Wall commemorate the 400,000 + Americans who died.

I'm Back from DC!

I'm back from Washington D. C.- we took a group of 5th graders and their parents for a trip over spring break. We had a great time and saw a lot! All the walking made me so sore and I don't know that I'll be able to walk for the rest of the week! Here are a few pictures I took while I was there.
The first day we were there was just beautiful. It was cold and it was windy but the sun was out. The second day we went to Arlington to start and it was raining and dreary. We were able to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Vietnam Memorial

Lincoln Memorial

Korean Memorial- I think this was my favorite memorial.

For my science fair judges

I know, I know- I haven't posted in forever and now I've post twice in one day. I made these two notebooks for the high school teachers coming down to our school next week to judge the science fair. They volunteer their time to come down and see what our elementary kids do for the science fair. This is the first time we have had high school teachers come down and I wanted to make a little something for them.

I just have one problem... the third judge is a man- OMG! What do I do? I know he doesn't want a flower notebook! I don't have any money from the school to spend. So whatever I do comes from my pocket. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Double the Fun

This is a card I made for my brother and his wife. They are expecting twins! I'm so excited for them. They don't know right now if they are boys, girls, or both. They should be finding out later this month. So I made this to let them know how excited I am for them!

I'm a slacker this week!

I've become a stamping slacker! lol I got a new toy, a Nintendo DS this last weekend and I have done nothing else since. I guess I should just say that I'm a slacker this week in general. Everything in piling up, laundry, dishes, etc.! lol I've got Brain Age 1 & 2 so I guess I could say I'm keeping my brain active! The game I have played the most is the Sims 2.

For those of you who know about my health problems, I thought I would let you know I'm on the waiting list for the Mayo Clinic. Hopefully they will be able to get me in soon and figure me out!

Embrace New Stamps

I got some new stamps the day I went back to work. Isn't that normally how it goes? The order comes in about the time it is time to go back to work! lol So I sat down tonight and had a chance to play with this set: Embrace Life. I love it! I even used the brads my friend Pegi sent me. I love the brads and I was waiting to use them on the perfect thing. Since the brads are copper I added a little copper cord around the DP. I love this new paper too! How do you like it?
