Button Sunglasses

Sunglasses

I had a secret pal several years back and she sent me a card with this stamp and she had put the cutest sunglasses on the top of her head. The stamp has sunglasses but I loved the 3D effect of the button. So I began my search for buttons that were shaped like sunglasses. Those were not easy to find! I finally found some a few weeks ago and I knew I had to try it to see if I could pull it off.

Sunglasses button

I snipped the back off and glued them on and I love it! I bought 4 packs of buttons so I'd have 4 of each color. Below you can see the package with the different colors.

Photo Kaylee

Smile!

Photo Kaylee is so cute and I had just the DP to go with her. I have had this paper forever! You can't see it but I even used some glossy accents on the lens and flash so it looks real!

Favorite

This is one of my favorite cards from the summer so far. This stamp is from The Greeting Farm. I used some old DP I had in the closet. I have so much DP and I keep buying more. I could probably quit buying and have enough to last for the rest of my life. Does anyone else have that problem?

Cheers Kaylee

Cheers

I purchased some digital images from Some Odd Girl and this is Cheers Kaylee. I used my Copic markers to color this one. I didn't have the color to match the paper so I combined red and orange to get close. I also made it so it looks like she is wearing Yellow Box flipflops, my favorite!

Sketch Challenge from Some Odd Girl

Reading Sketch Challenge

Today when they posted the sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl I knew exactly what I was going to do! Yesterday I bought my first digi images from them and printed them out. I don't have a huge selection of Copics yet so shading colors is a bit difficult. So I pulled out my old colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I had forgotten how much I love images colored that way. You see, I can't stand to see color lines on anything I do and the mineral spirits just smooth that away.

I love this card more than anything I've made in a while! I also love the digi images! I could make them any size I wanted! I find that most of the images are the same size when I purchase stamps and I find that I use the same layout over and over. So this allowed me to play around a little! I did notice just a tiny bit of running of the black line but it was so tiny that it didn't make a big difference, just helped to add some shading. I'm anxious to use the printed images with my Copics and see what happens. I printed them out yesterday so when I use them the ink should be set in and I shouldn't have trouble with it running at all!

MFT Challenge

Oh fudge!

When I got the e-mail about the MFT Wednesday Challenge I had to make something. I love sketch challenges because sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in a rut with my card layouts. So I used Here's the Scoop stamp set. I just love the little ice cream in this set so I knew it was perfect for the Hello Kitty polka dot paper. I don't have a scallop punch for the bottom so instead I used a little lace.

My Favorite Monkey

My favorite monkey

It has been a while since I pulled out my monkey stamps. So when I saw this little guy in the drawer I decided to give the cloud coloring technique a try. My clouds didn't turn out anything like Arabella's but I don't think it is too bad for my first try. I can see that I need to get more Copics. :) I didn't have the colors she used so I might just have to see about getting those colors and giving this another shot.

Romantic Gwen and Pinterest Projects

SOG card

This picture isn't the greatest because I took it with my iPad (nothing as great as my DSLR camera). I was excited about the card and couldn't wait to drag the camera out. I used Romantic Gwen from Some Odd Girl. This is the last of the new sets I got a few weeks ago. I made this card to match the goodies I've been making from Pinterest this week.
Picture Frame To Do List

This is a picture frame and I just added some ribbon to it. I "framed" a white piece of card stock. The plan is to put this on my desk and use an Expo marker to write my to do lists. This will be so easy since I always have an Expo close by at school.

Ribbon Wreath

My other Pinterest project this week was this ribbon wreath for my classroom door. Can you tell what color my room is? I decorated with black with white polka dots and a touch of red when I moved to a new room last summer. I love it so much and plan to keep the colors for the upcoming school year. I picked these colors because they match my Canon strap. Silly right?

To make this wreath I got a styrofoam wreath form at Michael's. Then I cut the ribbon into 4 inch strips. I used straight pins to pin the ribbon to the wreath. I was going to use hot glue but for some reason hot glue doesn't seem to hold real well around here. So I went with the pins with the hopes that they will stay put.

Some Odd Girl Facebook Challenge

Odd girl

So the Some Odd Girl Facebook Challenge today was to make a card where your girl has nontraditional colored hair. I went with blue but I hope that doesn't make you think of old ladies with blue hair. :) This was something different I hadn't done before but I like it. I normally make all the girls I color look like me- brown hair, brown/red hair. This one was fun!

Got Flowers?

That's Prima's catch phrase. Well, I got flower and got flowers and never did anything with them. So this week I challenged myself to use some of those flowers I've been getting. I have a ton of them and never use them because they just don't look complete to me. I added a few dew drops to the middle and I think I like the way these turned out. See what you think!

This is a new stamp I got from Some Odd Girl! Isn't she cute?

And this one is from The Greeting Farm. I used my letters to add "i'm nerdy and i know it" because that is so fitting for me.

Greeting Farm Purse Card

IMG_1991-3

Here is yet another card I made with The Greeting Farm stamps I love so much! You can't see the final brad but there are 3 in the bottom right corner of this card.

Some Odd Girl digi release is tomorrow so I can't wait to see what they have and give the digital images a try. This will be the first time I've used a digi stamp so I'll let you know how it goes!

Another Greeting Farm Stamp

Are you tired of seeing my Greeting Farm stamps yet? I just love these girls and I found another stamp company I love just as much. Have you heard of Some Odd Girl stamps? Oh my, love at first sight for me. I ordered a few clear stamps and I'm thinking of getting a few digi images as well. I can't wait to get some time for stamping and show you what I've done.

Girl in Blue/Tan

Here's another card I made with my Greeting Farm stamps. I colored it with Copics. I can't tell you how much I love those markers. I haven't even touched my colored pencils since I got them. I guess I shouldn't neglect my pencils but they just don't give me the smooth color the Copics do!

Been busy!

I've been stamping and just haven't posting anything in a while. So since summer is here I've decided to update my stamping blog. I have a school blog and photography blog too. This is one of the cards I made with a Greeting Farm stamp. I love these little girl stamps. I'll be posting more cards soon!
