I normally pour over ideas for school and my classroom. But this summer I decided to really take a break and try some new things for myself. So I've been watching lots of videos on YouTube on cardmaking. I've found several amazing channels to follow. I saw this videos recently and knew I wanted to try to recreate this card from Sandy Allnock.<br />
<br />

<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/m0He0vGlQ0g/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/m0He0vGlQ0g?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<br />
<br />
I started by stamping all my images. I watercolored them but was a little hesitant to try to add the background. I waited overnight for the watercolored images to dry and to work up my nerve. This is my final outcome.<br />

I added some pearl shimmer paint to the fairy wings and background. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. Thanks for looking!<br />

Many of these were new to me because I normally just stamp, color, and put my card together. I ran up to Michael's and picked up a few things. I couldn't go crazy with supplies but I picked up a few I thought I would use.<br />
<br />
The one I tried yesterday was <a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/store/par-fbr770318.html">whipped spackle</a>. I used it was a palette knife and my <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Tim-Holtz-MINI-STENCIL-SET-5-MST005-MST005?currency=USD">Tim Holtz stencil set 5</a>. I've become obsessed with stencils lately so I wanted to try my spackle with this one for a distressed look. I didn't put it on evenly because I wanted that worn look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSV6B3KjdEvWDH_JAeMkhM4pVzdFUfiygGPSqrzp1rlQCo9eGbqPxu7sCjAJ-mu9G26ZCwIL79qysNJnfB7nvD9UV_mN5v4qLRlW31mWyk8QmsbMMPLQXzUwJeMaBhguHCTw6hHA/s1600/Whipped+Texture.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSV6B3KjdEvWDH_JAeMkhM4pVzdFUfiygGPSqrzp1rlQCo9eGbqPxu7sCjAJ-mu9G26ZCwIL79qysNJnfB7nvD9UV_mN5v4qLRlW31mWyk8QmsbMMPLQXzUwJeMaBhguHCTw6hHA/s400/Whipped+Texture.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
After the spackle dried I went to work putting my card together. I really didn't have any idea what I wanted to do before I started. I originally thought I would go with some flowers but (GASP!) I really only have 2-3 floral sets and none of them had the leaves I was looking for. I turned to YouTube for inspiration. Of course, I found it from Jennifer McGuire:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bWgLCH1lxNg/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bWgLCH1lxNg?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<br />
<br />
I decided to go with the wet on wet watercolor look. I crossed my fingers and went for it. I misted my paper with water and then put watercolor on it, blue and green. Because I"m impatient and my idea was coming together, I dried it with my heat tool. Then I used some butterfly dies that came in a magazine my wonderful husband bought for me a few months ago when I was sick. I die cut them, coated them with Versamark, and coated them with <a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/wow-embossing-powder-regular-silver-pearl/">silver pearl embossing powder</a>. That was a little tricky but I figured it out.<br />
<br />
I cut of the white CS for the sentiment using the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/RESERVE-Lawn-Fawn-EVERYDAY-SENTIMENT-BANNER-Lawn-Cuts-LF1139-01LF1139">Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner</a>. I picked words from one of my favorite sets, <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-UPLIFTING-THOUGHTS-SSS101623-Among-The-Stars--SSS101623">SSS Uplifting Thought Among the Stars</a>. I stamped it in Versamark and embossed with silver powder. Then I glued 3 different sized butterflies on the card front. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipN7-AddmxPG9gSmWbuG2eKJmgWjqzbCR20Bnvyg4qqJyiCkUAmaNgdhQss-PVVfeK-rkSy0jFupqqzjgq9pn78oZVu6Jf8KML9cXDUiWhJG6OJqZ3daozKrSwhjB9DrD8mE5M-Q/s1600/Texture+Butterflies+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipN7-AddmxPG9gSmWbuG2eKJmgWjqzbCR20Bnvyg4qqJyiCkUAmaNgdhQss-PVVfeK-rkSy0jFupqqzjgq9pn78oZVu6Jf8KML9cXDUiWhJG6OJqZ3daozKrSwhjB9DrD8mE5M-Q/s400/Texture+Butterflies+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJZsxHXD54rEg9zJ0N3YOGeo6MehZXWUQQQ1xegq9rRUfV4S9YuzzEbE2tyh7BvCFaZl_98SUbeiNt94sHo1Gz9ccRvUh7yNZSZoheryjITFzmNesmR5p9OFvcImaUsmOvaUm9lg/s1600/Texture+Butterflies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJZsxHXD54rEg9zJ0N3YOGeo6MehZXWUQQQ1xegq9rRUfV4S9YuzzEbE2tyh7BvCFaZl_98SUbeiNt94sHo1Gz9ccRvUh7yNZSZoheryjITFzmNesmR5p9OFvcImaUsmOvaUm9lg/s400/Texture+Butterflies.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This was not my typical card, but I'm in love with it! Thanks so much for looking at my card today.<br />

I wanted to keep this pretty basic so I pull out some old designer paper. I popped up the balloon and circle with the elephant on it. I also added some glitter & crystal effect on the balloon. A few sequins finished this one off.<br />

After watching Jennifer McGuire's video (below) I had an idea for a card. I have only made one watercolored card but I had to try this. She made it look so easy so I gave it a try.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/PniQFZFgpEo/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PniQFZFgpEo?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To start, I cut out watercolor paper using the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product?id=378245">Wonky Rectangles die from Simon Says Stamp</a>. I also cut out a circle of watercolor paper with the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product?id=313639">SSS Stitched Circles</a>. I wanted the flowers to look like they were coming from under the circle I had planned for the center of the card. I used my Misti to set it all up and I stamped <a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/altenew-clear-stamps-persian-motifs/">Altenew Persian Motifs</a> and embossed it with <a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/wow-embossing-powder-regular-silver-pearl/">sliver pearl embossing powder</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkgwCCyRmCD0NBvxGn9_fC4k17ps2rorH3BBl13SOTnDnYQm01SJBQ76MZCE21-HBBojh_aAHwkngmn4QExzo8NV1mO4s24iCjkUKqiiw7yOiMjTwzSB958swCeH1z3gmUsinSaA/s1600/KindEmbossed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkgwCCyRmCD0NBvxGn9_fC4k17ps2rorH3BBl13SOTnDnYQm01SJBQ76MZCE21-HBBojh_aAHwkngmn4QExzo8NV1mO4s24iCjkUKqiiw7yOiMjTwzSB958swCeH1z3gmUsinSaA/s400/KindEmbossed.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used my watercolors to color the flowers. I haven't used watercolors much at all but by painting in the water first, all I had to do was drop the color in. It spread out and was relaxing to watch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjum3Dpdt85c1idRZHJGs5EkNPpna2mEhyphenhyphenh-bvZ9dOre8PVDYIhKAXXhzXpSltDDU-_3qhmkYgPJ56yYHd7tUO28ylQM1pOC8VeIJ37f69T37YuoqNkXPHXDzGp4NWc7fQgJ2H5RQ/s1600/KindWatercolorBase.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjum3Dpdt85c1idRZHJGs5EkNPpna2mEhyphenhyphenh-bvZ9dOre8PVDYIhKAXXhzXpSltDDU-_3qhmkYgPJ56yYHd7tUO28ylQM1pOC8VeIJ37f69T37YuoqNkXPHXDzGp4NWc7fQgJ2H5RQ/s400/KindWatercolorBase.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The hardest part was waiting for the watercolor to dry. While I waited, I cut out the word kind from navy cardstock using the <a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/concord-9th-dies-kind-card-frame-add-on/">Concord & 9th Kind card frame add-on</a>. It leaves the end of the word attached but I just snipped it off to use on my circle. Then I cut a small banner and stamped Hearted Friend from <a href="https://www.ellenhutson.com/concord-9th-clear-stamps-kindhearted/">Concord & 9th Kindhearted stamp set</a>. I can't wait to use this set more (it is new) because it is so versatile. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioMo3cs0CMpVtbqvcNV9n-KYobYgYZxxQyKF8kZT1RFqrajMxefzv3RrAxjPHK9fBeOONPrUwJjJqZom4z3y1cnHep-_Ct03u_OXjQkZL4w77Imd2W6t8474RAMpViEBOdopZZmQ/s1600/KindFriend.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioMo3cs0CMpVtbqvcNV9n-KYobYgYZxxQyKF8kZT1RFqrajMxefzv3RrAxjPHK9fBeOONPrUwJjJqZom4z3y1cnHep-_Ct03u_OXjQkZL4w77Imd2W6t8474RAMpViEBOdopZZmQ/s400/KindFriend.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added some dimension to the circle and banner with my roll of foam tape. This is my finished card. I'm so tickled with the way this one turned out! Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I found <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MPA6W4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1">these Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors for a really good price on Amazon</a>. I also got some brushes because I didn't have any.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnlWTqD5RPze6H9al7TYfsFqPsmNGJ4nhyphenhyphenhPqqrR_Jkl8skYWYWKAxALfPOjRxGWdL_0QZYbi-KIcl1IOQP5JeTAdIh82SgNuL4RkWMIF3lcDwxhSIcO8cwJbibJ9PWRzmcfDvQ/s1600/watercolors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnlWTqD5RPze6H9al7TYfsFqPsmNGJ4nhyphenhyphenhPqqrR_Jkl8skYWYWKAxALfPOjRxGWdL_0QZYbi-KIcl1IOQP5JeTAdIh82SgNuL4RkWMIF3lcDwxhSIcO8cwJbibJ9PWRzmcfDvQ/s320/watercolors.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I pulled out an old daisy stamp I have had for a really long time. I figured it was a good stamp to start with, since this was the first thing I've ever watercolored. I love how you can paint it with water and then just drop the color in. It is really neat to watch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfnxCgZgLZ5kbbNGkectuIU_3G-l0M3hbwOZhZPqeEp3GJoNazw4Pa76ziFrOmcYktQWQmWPhNWh5QdAcsdT_mqm92oxJSUExdZYAKBULAOFS8z8rT__sg1rb-Wdaz8roKk66Q8g/s1600/FlowersWC.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfnxCgZgLZ5kbbNGkectuIU_3G-l0M3hbwOZhZPqeEp3GJoNazw4Pa76ziFrOmcYktQWQmWPhNWh5QdAcsdT_mqm92oxJSUExdZYAKBULAOFS8z8rT__sg1rb-Wdaz8roKk66Q8g/s320/FlowersWC.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To make my card I dug in my stash of paper and found this. I thought it went well with the daisy stamped image so this is my finished card. I added some Nuvo clear drops to look like water and then added a few sequins.<br />
<br />

Their challenge for the month of <a href="http://www.wherecreativitymeetsc9.com/ch10/">June is layered</a>, so I had to play along!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv3l3jAjR0IKx3d6rOLnRBW9PT8Z17mExTYxWlvf9PgAN_tPsE_Rg6cYFW62BygR4ebkQWQE5_ac1L9L0BwKA8PYiGCJVNhuP6AvJi907gYH7_eOfbDquKbRD5V9asSZ1lF9o46A/s1600/Challenge-10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv3l3jAjR0IKx3d6rOLnRBW9PT8Z17mExTYxWlvf9PgAN_tPsE_Rg6cYFW62BygR4ebkQWQE5_ac1L9L0BwKA8PYiGCJVNhuP6AvJi907gYH7_eOfbDquKbRD5V9asSZ1lF9o46A/s320/Challenge-10.jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I just recently discovered Concord & 9th stamps and I love them! So I pulled out my newest set, <a href="https://concordand9th.com/collections/stamps/products/cuddles-hugs">Cuddles & Hugs</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used my distress oxide inks to create the stripes. I also stamped hugs with distress oxides and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the image on the heart, embossed with glitter embossing powder, and covered it with pink distress oxide ink. I cut several of the hearts and layered them up to give it some dimension since this challenge is about layering. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I finished it off with some sequins because no card is complete without a little bling. I took a picture from the side view so you can see the layers and dimension those layers added to the card. </div>

I have really enjoyed all these challenges. They've encouraged me to try things I wouldn't normally do on my typical cards.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-16/">MFT Camp Create Day 5 Challenge</a><br />
<br />
I love glitter but my husband hates it so I don't use it often. When we lived in the apartment I had glitter everywhere. It was even on his range bag. When we moved in the house he said no more glitter! So I've been doing really good. I normally use my glitter pen or a little glitter mist inside a box for the shimmer on my cards. When this challenge was posted I laughed and told him the final one was glitter.<br />
<br />
I used my favorite die cut from<a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/My-Favorite-Things-PEEK-A-BOO-POLKA-DOTS-Die-Namics-MFT920-AUGMFT920?currency=USD"> MFT, Peek a Boo Polka Dots</a>. I put it on some adhesive paper and then sprinkled it with glitter and rubbed it in on all the dots so it would stick. I didn't want the card to be too busy so I decided to go with a simple <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Honey-Bee-HELLO-Clear-Stamp-Set-HBST63-MAY17HBST63?currency=USD">hello stamp from Honey Bee Stamps</a>. I used my Scan N Cut to cut it out and then increased the outline size and cut it out from matching blue CS to go behind my sentiment.<br />
<br />
I really love this card but it is going to have to be mailed out quick!<br />

I attempted a new technique for me, dry embossing. I saw the <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-bonfire/">camp fire bonus challenge from MFT's Camp Creat</a>e. Then I watched this video from the always amazing Jennifer McGuire:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dkUKenxjKnY/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dkUKenxjKnY?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<br />
So I decided to attempt the second technique, dry emboss with die cuts. I don't have a lot of die cuts for stamped images because I have a Brother Scan N Cut, but I do have the one for this <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Hampton-Art-DOS-AMIGOS-Mama-Elephant-Clear-Stamp-and-Die-Set-SC0767-SC0767HA">Hampton Art/Mama Elephant set (Dos Amigos)</a>. I cut out 4 layers and stuck them together to use to dry emboss my little bunny on the card front. Something isn't quite right and I don't know enough about dry embossing to fix it. The top pressed almost through the paper and the bottom didn't emboss as much as I would've like it to. I used the words from <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/My-Favorite-Things-MORE-ESSENTIAL-SENTIMENTS-Clear-Stamps-CS194-MYMFTCS194?currency=USD">MFT More Essential Sentiments</a>.<br />

Oh my goodness! I had so much fun making this card! It was a challenge but I wanted to make it look like the monkey was swinging from the tree. I trimmed down some brown and green cardstock to create my tree and positioned the slider so it went up at an angle. I haven't used these stamps in a really long time and it challenged me to try something new. Thanks for looking at my card today!<br />

This fairy set is one of my new sets that needed to have ink put to it. I also use the MFT circle shaker dies to cut the circle in m cardstock. You can't see it in the picture but I put some glitter on her wings. Thanks for looking!<br />

I normally don't create floral cards but the example card for the challenge was beautiful and inspired me to create one of my own.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-13/">My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 2</a><br />
<br />
I pulled out stamps I haven't used in years, even had to wipe the dust off them. I used SU Canvas background and the flowers from another old SU set.<br />
<br />
I used my watercolor crayons to color the flowers. Today is the first day I have used those crayons, and that's another thing I've had for years. When I stamped the Canvas background I embossed it with clear and added gray ink on top of that.<br />
<br />

<div>
<a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/camp-create-june-12/">Camp Create Day 1: Wonderful Watercolor</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I don't have any watercolor paints yet so I was trying to figure out how in the world I would complete this. I have an old set of Stampin' Up Watercolor Crayons that I've never used. So I pulled them out and played around some. I used watercolor paper, wet it, scribbled, brushed over it, and repeated several times. I had the hugs and bear left over from another card set I made last week so I went with it. I don't know that I love the outcome but here is my card:</div>

I'm excited to be able to participate in some challenges now that it is summer. I am a teacher so summer means more time to do the things I enjoy, like cardmaking!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/2017/06/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-336.html">My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge</a> for the week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtZXRqb1AbPQOiKBqfK8jY4h3u442fLc43AaIW6cVtrvd8AE2GUiZiibGAJs28-hskH41Poq1TSFkY4Fs0P6I9OstqpQGbIce2iYIx8wF4dTh-ibuCiV6lbtykdVq0ea1Sjk2ow/s1600/MFTWSC336.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtZXRqb1AbPQOiKBqfK8jY4h3u442fLc43AaIW6cVtrvd8AE2GUiZiibGAJs28-hskH41Poq1TSFkY4Fs0P6I9OstqpQGbIce2iYIx8wF4dTh-ibuCiV6lbtykdVq0ea1Sjk2ow/s320/MFTWSC336.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got a new set from Concord & 9th and knew it was the perfect pair for MFT Friends Furever. I stamped the heart in the background with Versamark and adding some clear embossing powder. Then I created a heart stencil by tracing around the stamp and cutting it out of card stock. I blended 3 distress oxide inks to create the heart. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I used my Scan N Cut to cut out hugs and the pink card stock behind it. I colored this cute bear with my Copics and added a few sequins. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for taking the time to check out my card!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBZtgWCjUs3TprKaXrF__Dem77WdvN2YrWvOQuVLrMTYNjopX4Hir3cat0OAF133gvDpJZQjNbGVwoqxtuZfQXy8T-aVxgk3QZQUDEcxjF6z4O6Y3M2hVz-AwwlYHMuIXOoFC5HQ/s1600/hellosummerbear.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBZtgWCjUs3TprKaXrF__Dem77WdvN2YrWvOQuVLrMTYNjopX4Hir3cat0OAF133gvDpJZQjNbGVwoqxtuZfQXy8T-aVxgk3QZQUDEcxjF6z4O6Y3M2hVz-AwwlYHMuIXOoFC5HQ/s320/hellosummerbear.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used my distress oxide inks to create the yellow/orange background. Then I misted it with some shimmer (can't really tell in the picture). My little bear is on a wobble spring and the popsicles have crystal effects to make them look real. I was struggling with how I wanted the layout to look but I finally decided on this one. It matches the <a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2017/06/case-this-sketch-225.html">CAS(E) sketch #225</a> for the week so I thought I'd share.<br />

I've decided to start blogging about my card making adventures again. It had been a really long time since I put ink to paper. I pulled out my supplies again in March and things took off from there. I've missed stamping so much and have really enjoyed getting back into it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course, there are tons of new tools and products that I had to check out. The first I'm going to share in this great <a href="https://www.lawnfawn.com/collections/summer-2017/products/magic-color-slider" target="_blank">Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider die</a>. This makes it so easy to create a magical card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the Technique Tuesday set Leonardo the Lion. </div>

<br />
I had a secret pal several years back and she sent me a card with this stamp and she had put the cutest sunglasses on the top of her head. The stamp has sunglasses but I loved the 3D effect of the button. So I began my search for buttons that were shaped like sunglasses. Those were not easy to find! I finally found some a few weeks ago and I knew I had to try it to see if I could pull it off. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7672854418/" title="Sunglasses button by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Sunglasses button" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8160/7672854418_5141787098.jpg" width="375" /></a>
<br />
<br />
I snipped the back off and glued them on and I love it! I bought 4 packs of buttons so I'd have 4 of each color. Below you can see the package with the different colors. <br />

Photo Kaylee is so cute and I had just the DP to go with her. I have had this paper forever! This is one of my favorite cards from the summer so far. This stamp is from The Greeting Farm. I used some old DP I had in the closet. I have so much DP and I keep buying more. I could probably quit buying and have enough to last for the rest of my life. Does anyone else have that problem?</div>Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-88187352212071428532012-07-04T11:04:00.003-05:002012-07-10T13:34:52.240-05:00Cheers Kaylee<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7498220430/" title="Cheers by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Cheers" height="375" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8017/7498220430_f1ddc2373e.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />

I purchased some digital images from Some Odd Girl and this is <a href="http://www.someoddgirl.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=someodd4-related.tpl&product_id=371&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=61" target="_blank">Cheers Kaylee</a>. I used my Copic markers to color this one. I didn't have the color to match the paper so I combined red and orange to get close. I also made it so it looks like she is wearing Yellow Box flipflops, my favorite!Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-85151417015014096662012-07-01T15:23:00.001-05:002012-07-01T15:23:43.782-05:00Sketch Challenge from Some Odd Girl<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7481701736/" title="Reading Sketch Challenge by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Reading Sketch Challenge" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8008/7481701736_c98a4e50e4.jpg" width="420" /></a><br />
<br />
Today when they posted the <a href="http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/2012/07/sketch-challenge-2/" target="_blank">sketch challenge</a> over at Some Odd Girl I knew exactly what I was going to do! Yesterday I bought my first digi images from them and printed them out. I don't have a huge selection of Copics yet so shading colors is a bit difficult. So I pulled out my old colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I had forgotten how much I love images colored that way. You see, I can't stand to see color lines on anything I do and the mineral spirits just smooth that away. <br />
<br />
I love this card more than anything I've made in a while! I also love the digi images! I could make them any size I wanted! I find that most of the images are the same size when I purchase stamps and I find that I use the same layout over and over. So this allowed me to play around a little! I did notice just a tiny bit of running of the black line but it was so tiny that it didn't make a big difference, just helped to add some shading. I'm anxious to use the printed images with my Copics and see what happens. I printed them out yesterday so when I use them the ink should be set in and I shouldn't have trouble with it running at all!<br />Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-47860106500392380202012-06-27T17:02:00.002-05:002012-06-27T17:02:25.540-05:00MFT Challenge<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7456750422/" title="Oh fudge! by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Oh fudge!" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8157/7456750422_a2d855093f.jpg" width="389" /></a><br />
<br />
When I got the e-mail about the <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/?p=10894" target="_blank">MFT Wednesday Challenge</a> I had to make something. I love sketch challenges because sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in a rut with my card layouts. So I used Here's the Scoop stamp set. I just love the little ice cream in this set so I knew it was perfect for the Hello Kitty polka dot paper. I don't have a scallop punch for the bottom so instead I used a little lace.Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-63644493134794739292012-06-24T18:25:00.003-05:002012-06-24T18:25:34.724-05:00My Favorite Monkey<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7436025686/" title="My favorite monkey by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="My favorite monkey" height="500" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7117/7436025686_7effd3f409.jpg" width="423" /></a><br />
<br />
It has been a while since I pulled out my monkey stamps. So when I saw this little guy in the drawer I decided to give the<a href="http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/2012/06/cloud-coloring-tutorial-and-mini-challenge-by-arabella/" target="_blank"> cloud coloring technique</a> a try. My clouds didn't turn out anything like Arabella's but I don't think it is too bad for my first try. I can see that I need to get more Copics. :) I didn't have the colors she used so I might just have to see about getting those colors and giving this another shot.Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-45898740149208298592012-06-23T22:08:00.002-05:002012-06-23T22:08:27.428-05:00Romantic Gwen and Pinterest Projects<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7429472122/" title="SOG card by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="SOG card" height="500" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8013/7429472122_89172febeb.jpg" width="410" /></a><br />
<br />
This picture isn't the greatest because I took it with my iPad (nothing as great as my DSLR camera). I was excited about the card and couldn't wait to drag the camera out. I used <a href="http://www.someoddgirl.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=someodd4-related.tpl&product_id=323&category_id=49&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=107" target="_blank">Romantic Gwen</a> from Some Odd Girl. This is the last of the new sets I got a few weeks ago. I made this card to match the goodies I've been making from Pinterest this week. <br />
<div style="text-align: right;">
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7420609890/" title="Picture Frame To Do List by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Picture Frame To Do List" height="500" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7262/7420609890_44718cc840.jpg" width="375" /></a></div>
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7420609890/" title="Picture Frame To Do List by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
</a><br />
<br />
This is a picture frame and I just added some ribbon to it. I "framed" a white piece of card stock. The plan is to put this on my desk and use an Expo marker to write my to do lists. This will be so easy since I always have an Expo close by at school.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7417341166/" title="Ribbon Wreath by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Ribbon Wreath" height="500" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7124/7417341166_93bfa51b32.jpg" width="455" /></a><br />
<br />
My other Pinterest project this week was this ribbon wreath for my classroom door. Can you tell what color my room is? I decorated with black with white polka dots and a touch of red when I moved to a new room last summer. I love it so much and plan to keep the colors for the upcoming school year. I picked these colors because they match my Canon strap. Silly right? <br />
<br />
To make this wreath I got a styrofoam wreath form at Michael's. Then I cut the ribbon into 4 inch strips. I used straight pins to pin the ribbon to the wreath. I was going to use hot glue but for some reason hot glue doesn't seem to hold real well around here. So I went with the pins with the hopes that they will stay put.Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36441231.post-89677964950642334132012-06-18T18:51:00.001-05:002012-06-18T18:51:13.177-05:00Some Odd Girl Facebook Challenge<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mownbywhite/7397795724/" title="Odd girl by shaddybaby, on Flickr"><img alt="Odd girl" height="375" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7078/7397795724_8ae0430bb4.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />
<br />
So the <a href="http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/2012/06/facebook-fun-day-challenge-2/">Some Odd Girl Facebook Challenge</a> today was to make a card where your girl has nontraditional colored hair. I went with blue but I hope that doesn't make you think of old ladies with blue hair. :) This was something different I hadn't done before but I like it. I normally make all the girls I color look like me- brown hair, brown/red hair. This one was fun!Michelle W.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11557728997448854905noreply@blogger.com3
