Fisherman from Rock the Farm

I made this card with the little fisherman from the Rock the Farm stamp set from The Greeting Farm. I am so proud of this card! When I started I just stamped this little guy and colored the image with my Copics. I normally plan the card out before I start, but not this time. After coloring him I picked out some colors that went well with him. I also used the CB to emboss the caramel layer to make it look a little like fish scales. After kicking ideas around my wonderful husband suggested a hook. He pulled out some craft wire he uses in his model car building and made me some hooks. He also gave me the idea to put the fibers around the top of the hook. I stuck a brad through and attached it to the ribbon that way because I didn't want to glue it. I love this little guy. Too bad I don't know any fishermen to send it to.

Sweet!

I love this Gina K stamp set and I just haven't had the time to use it much. I pulled it out along with the Cuttlebug and made this card. I also used my new Nesties, which I love. I always tend to pick brown and red to use with this set. I'm going to have to try to use something a little different next time.

Happy Birthday Sonya

I came home from work a little early today because I was not feeling well. I've taken some medicine and I was sitting here in front of the computer. I thought I would share this cute little card I made for a co-worker. I sat down last night to make Sonya a birthday card. I had some in my stash but I wanted to make one especially for her. I used my new little turtle stamp and colored it with my Kohinoor pencils again. I just love those pencils and I don't know how I colored before I had them. They are so easy to blend and super easy to use! So I used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the background. I thought this one was appropriate since it has flowers on it. Then I added some ribbon and a flower brad at the bottom. I was going to add 3 brads but they were a little big and I didn't want it to be overpowering. The inside is stamped with "happy birthday." I hope she enjoyed the card and her lunch! We always order lunch for our grade level on his/her birthday.

Owl Baby Card for Trace

I have been involved in several baby showers for my friend Trace. I have also made some cards for her and I have just about used all my baby stamps. We had a baby shower for her at school today and I needed a cute card. I used my Gina K Owl Love You set. I picked the one with the eggs! I also used little baby prima flowers and baby rhinestones. I colored the image with my Kohinoor pencils and punched the edges using my SU template. She really loved the card! And I'm so glad because all the baby stamps have been used except the twins stamp I have! lol

VSN Fancy Nancy

This card was made for the Fancy Nancy challenge VSN. I decided to go with the pink and silver color combo. I also colored the butterfly with my glitter pens and I added some flowers and bling. The background was embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folder. I took a close up picture of the stamped image so you can see the glitter. The photos don't do this one justice.

VSN- AUG08VSND

I used my Gina K stamp set to make the card for the AUG08VSND challenge for Virtual Stamp Night. The challenge was to make a card with flocking or felt. I don't have any flocking, but Chris brought some stick on felt home the other day and said I might be able to use it on one of my cards.

So I ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Nesties and got a perfect circle for the moon. I colored the image with my Kohinoor pencils and blended it. Then I sponged the background with Night of Navy ink. I even added a little Crystal Effects on the eyes to make them shine.

CC177

I had lunch with my mom today and when I got home I decided to check out the color challenge on SCS. Today's challenge is CC177, Groovy White Sands. I decided to use my Butterfly Kisses stamp set from PTI. I'm not sure why I've been making butterfly cards lately. So I stamped the paisley butterfly with my sahara sand and the words are stamps in Groovy Guava. I added a few brads in the corner after using my paisley cuttlebug embossing folder. This is a nice, simple card to make.

Pink Butterfly

I pulled out my Wonderful Wings set because it needed some love. I have some of them that haven't even seen ink! Can you believe that? So this is one that I have never used before. I colored it with my Koh-i-noor pencils and then used my glitter pen to add glitter to part of the wings. I did a close up of the butterfly so you can see the glitter I added.

I also dug through my little bag of prima flowers to find some to use on this card. And of course, I added some rhinestones to the flowers.

for Trace

I was talking to Trace on the phone tonight and I told her I wanted to make her baby shower announcements. I was playing around with my stuff and came up with this Bella card. I wasn't really thrilled with the way it turned out. I just wasn't "right," if you know what I mean.

So, I got on SCS to see if I could find something that caught my eye and THIS is what I found. Mandypandy had made this cute little set of cards and I knew that was it. Trace's nursery is nautical so I whipped one up. I used my snap stamps to do the words and I punched them out with a word window. The boat is made with circles and squares cut in half. I used the line from my Papertrey Ink word set and stamped it in Chocolate Chip. Then I added lines with the white gel pen and some red brads/ribbon. I also stamped some waves on the Soft Sky water. I love it and I know she will too!

Have Another Ice Cream

I made another MFT ice cream card last night. I used some more of My Mind's Eye DP from the pack I got the other day. I also used Pretty in Pink as my base color. I was so excited that all my nesties came in yesterday! I ordered the ovals, scallop ovals, circles, and scallop circles.
So I have to give them a try. Using my Cuttlebug, I cut the oval and the scallop oval for the main image. I also added pinkish, purplish glitter on the top and a pink rhinestone cherry.

Color Challenge CC174

I went to Trace's house today to stamp. We ended up going to Hobby Lobby and getting a few things. I bought another package of My Mind's Eye designer paper (like I needed more). When I got it home I found the perfect paper to go with the color challenge today.
So, I made this one for the color challenge on SCS. The colors to use were Groovy Guava, Choc Chip, and Barely Banana. I don't think the picture does this one justice, but the paper really does match IRL. I also added some glitter to the butterfly. You can't tell, but I cut out a butterfly and folded the wings up a little so it is actually 3D.

Mojo45 Challenge

I made this one for the Mojo Challenge on Poetric Artistry. I love her challenges and this week she is giving away a stamp set! I love the Verve stamps so I had to enter.
I used kraft for the base. I also used pretty in pink, chocolate chip paper, and Basic Grey DP. Since I didn't have the punch to make the scalloped edge at the bottom I cut out choc chip using the lace border die I bought when I first got my CB. I also added a little bling next to "mwah." I don't think the picture does this one justice!

My New MFT Set

Here is the first card I made with my new MFT stamps Call Me. I used paper piecing for the chair and wallpaper. I wonder what I was thinking to cut all that out! I like the way it turned out so I guess it was worth all the cutting! I used the CB embossing folder to do the dots on the background and I cut out the tag with my CB. Since I didn't really have any ribbon that matched this I used paper to make faux ribbon.

for Mom & MIL

I made this set of cards for my mom. I stamped the envelope to match the cards. Since I used the circle boarder around the monograms I used the circle cuttlebug folder.

I made this second set for my mother in law. I took them over to her house tonight because my husband was over there. She loved them!

I won't be posting again until the end of the week, at least. I'm headed back to the Mayo Clinic for additional tests. I'm not super excited about going but I'm going anyway.

Look What Came In the Mail!!!

I ordered this monogram stamp from Stamp Castle. I was so excited about it getting here and it got here today. So I pulled it out and I had to make some cards with my own monogram on it first.

I used my cuttlebug to do the background on this one. I picked my favorite one since I will be using these. I used my circle punch to punch out the monogram but then I didn't have the next size bigger. So I used the circle cutter with the blade and cut out a little big bigger circle that would fit in the scallop circle. I think the pink circle should have been a little smaller but that circle thing is a pain to use. I am happy with the end result.

I also made a new bella card. I have had some new bella stamps for some time now and they haven't even touched ink, gasp! So I went to Staples and bought a binder and some baseball card sheet protectors. I organized all my bella stamps so I can see them now so I had to use this one. I also used my new Koh-i-noor colored pencils to color this one. I wish I had more of a selection of colors like my Prismacolors, however, I love the way they blend. I think this might be one of my best coloring jobs!

Stampin' Academy Box

I don't know if you all know about this site but it is wonderful! It is called Stampin' Academy. She does step by step videos on how to make things, which is great for me! I can normally follow directions pretty well but it really helps to see it done before I try it myself. When I just have directions sometimes I mess up a few good pieces of paper before I get it right. I just love this box! Now I have to do is make some cards to match it to go inside.

Verve Visual Butterflies

I made this card today using my new Verve Visual stamp set, Fluttering By. I had to go to Hobby Lobby and get some black embossing powder for this one. I couldn't believe I didn't have any- I had all these colors but no black. That did give me an excuse to go to Hobby Lobby though- and I picked up some new colored pencils that they have been talking about on Gina K's site.

So, I embossed the butterflies and colored them in with Pearl Ex. I embossed the rust background with my cuttlebug embossing folder. I used the monarch butterfly colors so now I might go back and do one using different colors.
