My Secret Santa Peek

I am a member of the WISHRAK forum over on SCS. I signed up to do secret santa this year and my box arrived today. I can't open it for a while, but was told to have someone open the box and take out a pail.

This cute little santa was on the top of the box- how cute it that?

And the pail is full of candy and had a cute little tag with directions!

My VSN Challenge

Now that my VSN challenge is posted I can show you one of the things I've been making the last few weeks. My challenge was "Frame Your Star." I used a picture of my niece that I took on her 2nd birthday. I covered a photo mat with DP. Then I added a few girly things to go along with that cute little face!

I'm not feeling well today. I've got the crud and I'm sure it is because of the crazy weather changes we have been having here. I hope I'm up and going again before Monday!

Monogram Gift Tin & Cards

I made an altered tin this week for a friend. She is going through a rough time and I wanted to send her a little something to brighten her day. I made this and some cards to match.

I made one set of cards using the same paper I used on the tin. The other set I used the paisley paper which has the same color scheme. I put her initials on them and was thinking she could use them as thank you notes or just to send a note to someone. I really hope she likes the set. I have to get a box to put in all in so I can get it mailed to her.

Blogging Award & Monogram Gift

I got a blogging award from Jackie. Click here to check out her blog! It was super sweet of her to give me the award and the wonderful comment about my blog. Thanks Jackie! Once you get tagged you have to tag others and here are the rules:

1. Only 5 people allowed
2. 4 have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog & live in another part of the world
4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award

And the awards go to...

I know I have several comments from most of these ladies. I appreciate all the comments every leaves. I guess it is just a little validation for me!

My friend, Kelly, asked me to make a set of monogram cards for her to give to her SIL. She is getting married and Kelly wanted to give her some cards with her new monogram. She said not to use bright colors and she left it open from there. So, this is what I came up with. I used some of my DP that I love! I used Old Olive for the base color. I also got to add some of the great ribbon my secret sis sent me this round. I just love that olive ribbon with the green stitch on the outside edge. I also made a little paper box to put the cards and envelopes in. I hope she likes it!

Monogram Pouch

I made this little project late last night and I really hope the person I made it for loves it! A while back I made a little pouch like this with small scrapbook page protectors. So I pulled them out again and made another one. I just cut the designer paper to go inside and a solid piece of CS to go on the back and wrap around the top. There is also a small piece of velcro under the flap to hold it down. I didn't put a ribbon handle on this one but I have in the past. I thought this looked fine without one.

These are the cards I made to go inside. I used paper from My Minds Eye and SU regal rose CS. And this is the final project all put together!

My First CD Tin

I went to my LSS today looking for something to make for a swap I'm doing. It is a neat swap because you make something for just one person. So I found these cute little CD tins. I have seen them on SCS but I have not made any myself. So I bought 2 to play with.

This is what I came up with. I covered it with DP in chocolate chip. I put a strip of cc cardstock and then I covered a chipboard letter with more DP. I really hope the girl I'm sending it to likes it. I wanted to send something a little more than just a card that is required. Like I said, this is the first one I made and I really like it. It is a cute little tin and now it is personalized.

Stampin' Academy Box

I don't know if you all know about this site but it is wonderful! It is called Stampin' Academy. She does step by step videos on how to make things, which is great for me! I can normally follow directions pretty well but it really helps to see it done before I try it myself. When I just have directions sometimes I mess up a few good pieces of paper before I get it right. I just love this box! Now I have to do is make some cards to match it to go inside.

Christmas Present I'm Making for Mom

Mom, if you are reading this look away!!!! lol

I made the cutest little card tin for my mom for Christmas. I was looking around at the local scrapbook store this weekend and ran across the cutest paper. My mom collects elephants and I have been looking for something like this to make her a tin for cards. Everything I used on the tin is BasicGrey. The elephant paper is Oh Baby! Girl Macy and the purple paper on top is LilyKate Rain. I was tickled to find the fibers that perfectly match the paper (Oh Baby! Girl Coordination Fibers). The fibers were wound on a card and there were several different ones. I used the wider pink to trim around the top lip of the lid. Then I tied the rest of them on the handle. I wish I had bought more so I could cover the entire handle with them. But the fibers were a little high for me to buy several. I just couldn't resist the combination of the paper and fibers for this cute little tin!

I plan to use the rest of the paper to make her some monogram cards. She is always sending little notes to everyone so I thought this would be perfect. I'll post a picture of the cards once I get them made.
