I'm Back!

I'm back from the Mayo Clinic and I'm still waiting for a diagnosis. They have found a lot of things wrong with me but they just aren't sure what to call it yet. I should hear from the doctor within the next day or so.

I missed my stamping while I was gone. So I have made a few cards since I've been back. Here are a few of them. This first one I made for my sister-in-law. She fell and twisted her ankle. She has newborn twins and a 2 year old at home. Now she has an ankle boot to go with it. I pulled down Sassy Stems because I haven't used it in a while. I really love this set!

I also pulled out my MFT stamp sets. I didn't have the right kind of ink so I went to Hobby Lobby and got some that works wonderful with these sets. I made this card for one of my best friend's birthday. She turns 30 this weekend! So I wanted to use this set to make a card for her. I used my new Kooh-i-noor pencils to color both of these. I love these pencils so much and they don't cost as much as my Prismacolors did. I hope Trace likes this card! Maybe she won't see this post before I can give it to her.

for Mom & MIL

I made this set of cards for my mom. I stamped the envelope to match the cards. Since I used the circle boarder around the monograms I used the circle cuttlebug folder.

I made this second set for my mother in law. I took them over to her house tonight because my husband was over there. She loved them!

I won't be posting again until the end of the week, at least. I'm headed back to the Mayo Clinic for additional tests. I'm not super excited about going but I'm going anyway.

Look What Came In the Mail!!!

I ordered this monogram stamp from Stamp Castle. I was so excited about it getting here and it got here today. So I pulled it out and I had to make some cards with my own monogram on it first.

I used my cuttlebug to do the background on this one. I picked my favorite one since I will be using these. I used my circle punch to punch out the monogram but then I didn't have the next size bigger. So I used the circle cutter with the blade and cut out a little big bigger circle that would fit in the scallop circle. I think the pink circle should have been a little smaller but that circle thing is a pain to use. I am happy with the end result.

I also made a new bella card. I have had some new bella stamps for some time now and they haven't even touched ink, gasp! So I went to Staples and bought a binder and some baseball card sheet protectors. I organized all my bella stamps so I can see them now so I had to use this one. I also used my new Koh-i-noor colored pencils to color this one. I wish I had more of a selection of colors like my Prismacolors, however, I love the way they blend. I think this might be one of my best coloring jobs!

Keychain Post It Notes

I made another post it note holder from Stampin' Academy. These are too cute and I love the way it turned out. I don't think I scored it just right because the edge on the back doesn't quite cover the paper. I didn't have the little scallop punch like in the tutorial so I used another punch and did the front a little different. I also used the cuttlebug to cut out the little flower for the front.

Been Busy Stamping!

I've been a stamping fool today! lol As you can see from my previous post I found a great web site to show you how to make all those cute little projects other than cards. So I had to make some of them. The first picture is a post it note holder. I love it because it is sturdy and wraps around the post it notes. I didn't have any chipboard coasters so I got an empty cereal box and made my own. The great thing about it is you can't tell it isn't straight because it is covered with DP.

The other thing I made today was a card for the color challenge on SCS and the Mojo Challenge. I used kraft, black, white, and soft sky. I used the Baroque Motif stamp set. I really love that SU set! I stamped the flower in soft sky and them rolled the edges in Buckaroo Blue. I'm happy with this one, and it is a good thing I am because I made 6 of them.

Stampin' Academy Box

I don't know if you all know about this site but it is wonderful! It is called Stampin' Academy. She does step by step videos on how to make things, which is great for me! I can normally follow directions pretty well but it really helps to see it done before I try it myself. When I just have directions sometimes I mess up a few good pieces of paper before I get it right. I just love this box! Now I have to do is make some cards to match it to go inside.

Glitter

I made a few of these cards last night. I picked up the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder at Hobby Lobby yesterday so I had to try it out. I used regal rose, certainly celery, black, and white. I tried to stamp the butterfly in Versamark and I mixed pink glitter with my embossing powder. It didn't stick as well as I would have liked but it is still pretty. Chris had a fit because he said I had the glitter out again! :) He is sure it will end up on his model desk or recording board and ruin something.
I have to share a funny story about glitter. I use a lot of lotion and body spray that have glitter in them. So after I get ready I normally put them on in the bedroom. Well, a few months ago he went to get his gun bag out and there was glitter all over it. He also found some camo that he wears for hunting that has glitter on it. He said the glitter would scare the deer away and no manly man wants to show up at the range with glitter on his gun bag. So I have been told to use the glitter stuff in the bathroom. Chris told me to use all my glitter spray, lotion, hairspray, and toothpaste in the bathroom. Obviously I don't have glitter hairspray or toothpaste- but he said he was going to add that in there because he was sure if they invented it I would buy it!

Verve Visual Butterflies

I made this card today using my new Verve Visual stamp set, Fluttering By. I had to go to Hobby Lobby and get some black embossing powder for this one. I couldn't believe I didn't have any- I had all these colors but no black. That did give me an excuse to go to Hobby Lobby though- and I picked up some new colored pencils that they have been talking about on Gina K's site.

So, I embossed the butterflies and colored them in with Pearl Ex. I embossed the rust background with my cuttlebug embossing folder. I used the monarch butterfly colors so now I might go back and do one using different colors.

RAK from eliotstamps

I got another beautiful RAK in the mail today from eliotstamps. I just love the colors. This stamp is from one of my favorite stamp sets. I also love the pearl in the center of the flower. What a nice touch. Thank you for your words of kindness!

4th of July Card

Here is what I have come up with for my July 4th cards. I ordered these stamps especially for these cards. I played around with the layout and came up with something I like. I have embossed all the backgrounds, tied all the ribbon, put in all the brads, and put everything together except the main image. Since I color them with Prismacolors and then go back over them with Gamasol I can only do a few at a time before I get a crick in my neck. I shouldn't have a problem getting them all done in time to mail them for the 4th.

My first Verve Visual order

My order from Verve Visual came in today. This is the first time I have ordered from them but I really liked their stamp designs. I ordered Petals & Stems and Fluttering By. I like the way they stick to the acrylic block and then I can just peel them off and put them back. The image is real crisp too. I used Petals & Stems to make this card. I used the DP I picked up at the scrapbook store today. It is My Mind's Eye- My Sunshine Blooming Lovely. I tried to pull all the colors from the DP to use on the card. I used Choc Chip, So Saffron, Soft Sky, and Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the butterfly once on the paper and then I stamped another one and layered it on top. I also used my glitter pen to add some glitter to the wings. I really like the way this one turned out. I wonder if I used too many of the colors though.

RAK from Naturecoastcrafter

I got a beautiful RAK from Jean today. My friend Trace told her I was having some medical problems and she send me a card. It is just beautiful and full of sunshine! Thank you Jean!

Happy Father's Day

I made these cards for all the dads in my life. I went to the scrapbook store and found this paper that said dad and father. I also got the striped paper to match it. Of course, I had to use these cute little monkey stamps! I hope they all like it!

Owl CASE

I made another owl card tonight. I was looking around on SCS and found this card by jessjean. When I saw it I knew I had to make one like it. It isn't exactly the same because I didn't have the gray paper or the Copic markers. I used Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke, Black, and Whisper White. I colored the owls with my Prismacolor pencils and blended it with gamasol. I used gray and black chalk to color the background and I used hairspray to set the chalk. I love the way the owl's eyes pop! It looks much better IRL.

Welcome to the family...

The twins are here! Kevin and Laura had two girls June 8th- Leigha Claire and Kara Elise. I wanted to make something for them that included the whole family. So I made one of the picture frames with the All in the Family stamp set. I hope they like it!

In the close up you can see all the members of the family. Here they are from L to R: Rhett, Kayla, Laura, Kevin, Leigha, and Kara. I really wanted to add some ribbon or something but I couldn't figure out where to put it. I can't wait to give it to them.
